Rochelle Lum

Ceramics is my passion, breathing life into clay is my desire. My hand built sculptures are inspired by the flora and fauna of Hawaii and the folktales, legends and mythology of Hawaii and Asia.

I received a B.A. in Art Technique/Fine Arts from Mills College in Oakland, CA with post graduate work in Art Education.

Currently, I teach hand building classes and workshops at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, Hawaii Potters’ Guild and Hickam Arts and Crafts.

As a ceramic artist I participate in solo, juried and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and Asia.

  • "People ask me what I'm going to do after I retire from making ceramics. I couldn't come up with anything better. I have a student who's 93 years old who comes to class in a wheelchair. She says she still loves doing it."
